    Registration is easy and you will receive an approval email once your application has been reviewed.

    Identify ECU

    Identify your vehicle ECU

    Once you login, navigate to the Protocol Database. Once here you can use the drop down menus to discover any vehicles ECU type. This is to aid you in the selection of the tuning method and tooling best suited. You should also take a look at the Wiki to see if there are any known issues regarding tuning of your ECU.

    Getting the Correct ECU Flash Tool

    After using the Protocol Database, you should now be aware of the ECU type. To determine the best tool to use, we recommend using websites such as http://flashtec.ch/ and proflash.works. Here you should find extensive amounts of information on each of the various tools including the supported ECU types. You may also wish to visit Ebay and Amazon for price comparisons. PrecisionCodeWorks supports all master flash tool formats (OBD, BDM, Tricore including TPROT). Note we are in the process of building a lookup service for this.

    Read Original File

    Read Original File from ECU using selected tool

    Following the instructions of your tuning tool, download the Original ECU file from the ECU. Make sure you check have checked our Wiki to see if we have any expert notes regarding the ECU.

    Purchase Some Credits

    Simply select 'Purchase Credits' from the main page and follow the steps to complete the checkout. This will give you access to the 'Build your Tune' section and while you have positive credit balance, you will keep access to all areas of the website.

    Build your Tune

    Build your Tune

    Navigate to 'Build your Tune' and complete the three steps. The first step is to upload your original ECU file. This is the file we will modify to your desired calibration. You can see a demonstration of steps 6, 7 and 8 in our demonstration video.

    Select Your Desired ECU profile

    Once your file has uploaded, you will be shown the options for your original file. Select your tuning profile (reviewing the various profile data) and any DPF/EGR switches and confirm. If there are any issues, you may raise a support ticket to have an engineer look at your Original ECU file.

    Once the system has built your selected tune file after around 30 seconds wait, simply press the download button and the file will save to your computer. Please note that this is not a standard file, it is specific to your original to ensure maximum compatibility.

    Upload new ECU file to your vehicle ECU using your tuning tool

    Following the hardware instructions from your tuning tool, select the new ECU file you just downloaded and upload it to the ECU. Again it is worth checking out our Wiki to see if there are any known flashing issues with the ECU.

    After flashing of the ECU is complete, the car should be calibrated to your chosen profile. Take the vehicle for a drive and feel the difference for yourself. If you are not happy in any way, please raise a support request and let us know. We pride ourselves on our work.
